LANDOne is a £37.8 Million project looking into new lighter, lower maintenance landing gear systems. Officially launched in 2022, Transense has joined the project due to the SAWsense technology potentially allowing critical measurements to be made that were not possible with other technologies.
Ryan Maughan, Managing Director of Transense said: “We are delighted to announce this new project with Airbus, building on our experience in the aerospace sector, and using SAWsense technology in an entirely new application for landing-systems. As well as developing cutting edge technology in this exciting application, the project allows Transense to build a relationship with world leading aerospace businesses.”
The LANDone project is part-funded by the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) Programme; a partnership between the ATI, the Government’s Department for Business & Trade and Innovate UK (part of UK Research and Innovation). The ATI Programme provides funding for research & technology projects that maintain and grow the UK’s competitive position in civil aerospace.
