Transense Technologies plc (AIM: TRT), the provider of specialist sensor systems, is pleased to confirm Dave Shemmans as an additional member of the Commercial Advisory Panel (“SAWCAP”) for its Surface Acoustic Wave business (“SAW”). SAWCAP was formed in December 2020 to provide advice and support to the Board and management of Transense in the development of commercial strategy, sales and marketing activities and to forge strategic alliances.
Dave holds a BSc/BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Manchester and is a graduate of the Program for Management Development (PMD) at Harvard Business School. He recently stepped down after sixteen years as Group CEO at Ricardo plc, the global strategic engineering and environmental consultancy that specialises in the transport, energy and scarce resources sectors. At Ricardo he has overseen the successful conversion and delivery of world leading innovative programmes, from supercar powertrain to military vehicles, and set out a strategic vision to provide sustainable energy, environmental and mobility solutions. In addition, he is a Non-Executive director at ElectraMeccanica Vehicles Corporation, a US listed electric vehicle business, and at Sutton And East Surrey Water plc.
Dave has particular skill as a driver for change and seeks to challenge the status quo through the use of innovative technology to solve complex problems.
Nigel Rogers, Executive Chairman of Transense, said:
“We are delighted to confirm Dave as an additional member of SAWCAP. He has a rare combination of strategic vision and operational pragmatism, and the ability to relate across the engineering landscape from large multinational corporates to smaller nimble companies like Transense. His insights will be invaluable, not only in business development, but also in the controlled development of our capabilities to support an increasing workload of additional programmes and customers.”
Dave Shemmans added:
“I am delighted to be a member of the SAWCAP team to support the commercialisation of Transense’s groundbreaking wireless sensor technology. It is already proven in highly specialised military, aerospace and motorsport applications, and has exciting potential for wider adoption in mainstream markets.”
